Vintage Enamelware and eBay
I’ve recently developed a love for enamelware. It’s sturdy, rustic… and the vintage pieces come in red and white – perfect for Christmas. Since the open shelving got a touch of Christmas I wanted to be sure and level the playing field on the other side of the kitchen where my hanging baskets and Cup rack live. So, I decided to check eBay – one of my favorite places to find vintage items at great prices. Oftentimes they offer goods as “buy it now.” I however, like the chase. This time I bid on a few old pots…a few bucks for the pair. I’ll tell you half the fun is just hoping to win, and this time, I was lucky. These babies were all mine at $3.50!
I secured them to the hook with bakers twine for another pinch of holiday cheer.
I love how they add a touch of red and compliment my Kids’ Santa mugs, which were also blanketed with a few fresh springs of evergreen (saved from when we pruned the Christmas tree).
I found the candy-striped hand towels last year at Homegoods and remembered to securely store them away with the Christmas décor so they were fresh and ready to use again this year.
Next time you’re getting that shopping itch (you know the one?), check out eBay…. you might be just a few dollars away from a touch of vintage charm and a whole lot of fun chasing it down 😉
