DIY Barrel Top Lazy Susan
It was a quiet weekend on Blueberry Hill after a heartbreaking loss for the Grey Ghosts Friday night leaving them 7-1. But, not all was lost… No, The Mr. (AKA “coach”) took it out on a pile of wood and when he had no more wood to swing an axe at he started with the saw. I just left him to his thoughts and before I knew it, we had a blazing fire with enough wood to last us through Christmas and this piece of Amazingness:
And yes, it spins.
How’d he do it you ask?
We’d found this old barrel strap in our back yard and kept it because, well, it was just too cool. ;-).
I also had this spinning lazy Susan from the cabinets we’d torn out, thinking we might use it again some day:
A few pieces of wood leftover from our deck, a sander, a few screws… finished with some mineral oil and:
Amazing what a little imagination and a whole lot of steam to burn off can do! 🙂 Don’t get me wrong… this does not make the loss any easier, and boys, please, please let’s win this week… but if you don’t, I’ll be sure to have a new pile of wood all ready to go 😉
