DIY Reindeer sign
I am having a ball decorating and crafting for Christmas this year. So much fun in fact that I almost forgot to blog the reindeer sign I made (inspired by a favorite blogger of mine, Liz Marie from LizMarieBlog.com)
I had the Mr. help me to cut a piece of plywood to size, painted it white and let it set over night. I found some scraps of wood in the garage to make the frame so I stained them and cut them down to size. A few nails and a sore thumb later…the frame was set. Next I printed the names of all of Santa’s reindeer on the computer, and cut out the insides of the letters with an exact-o knife (making a stencil). Lastly I eyeballed the spacing (yes next time I will measure… eek, luckily I can live with imperfect) and stenciled in the letters with a firm brush. I used Espresso bean from Behr for the first 8 reindeer and some left over berry rose from Clark & Kensington (from our front door) for Rudolph.
The kids love it and “read” the names as they sing the song. Love when my crazy crafting gets educational for the kids ;-).
Thanks for stopping in today! Hope you’re enjoying the season as much as I am :-).
