Unique Farmhouse Décor and Curtis Creation
Hello friends! I hope you had a fantastic Easter weekend. Today I’m teaming up with Susie from Curtis Creation to bring you this post (and if you’re like me, once you meet her you’ll love her as much as I do!)
My favorite way to decorate a space and make it truly feel like home, is with unique and interesting décor. I’m always on the lookout for pieces with loads of character and charm to add to my home. Shopping antique stores, thrift shops, and Craigslist for the perfect treasures are all great, but, if you’re not able to take the time to really go hunting…Curtis Creation may be the perfect alternative. The owner, Susie, does all the footwork for you and collects her unique finds in one great place – her online shop, www.curtiscreation.com. (she also has a store if you’re lucky enough to live nearby in Grapevine, TX). She’s always adding new pieces to her shop so I like to follow along with her on Instagram @curtiscreation to see what’s new, go on her fun hunting excursions and even vote on what she puts out there for sale. Neat huh? Let me share with you a taste of what she has to offer:
This faux antique scale is actually a fully functioning clock and I think our new baby chicks enjoyed it just as much as I do. I’ve moved this around to a few places already in my home, and it currently is living behind our sofa…can you spot it back there?
Next is this amazing cloche (pronounced cl.oa.sh) and my favorite piece in this whole bunch I think. If you’re a fixer upper fan like me, you’ll have seen one of these in *most* of Joanna’s kitchen reveals. It adds the perfect touch of elegance to our otherwise plain kitchen tabletop and I think my Aunt hit it right on the money when she commented it could even make “burnt toast look fancy.”
And then there is this gigantic raw wood cutting board that is about two feet long and just a stunner:
I could see it at a party full of fancy cheese slices and assorted crackers. It’s also got a leather strap so this would be the perfect accent in your kitchen hanging on the wall.
Next is the perfect addition to our growing farm: the chicken feeder plate rack:
This is another great reproduction piece (a new piece made to look old…I probably wouldn’t put plates on anything our chickens ever used. ever.) I love the character it adds to our open shelving and it is SO functional. If you ask me, pretty dishware was meant to be seen (not hidden in your cabinets).
And last but certainly not least are these gorgeous metal hanging baskets:
Aren’t they amazing? I could even see these in the kitchen with fruits and fresh veggies resting in them. Oh or at the tiny house serving as extra storage somewhere. The possibilities are endless.
As a special thank you to my readers here Susie is offering a 20% off orders of $75 or more (and as always for US customers, free shipping! ). Simply use BLUEBERRYHILL at checkout!
Oh and one last thing, if you’re getting married or are expecting a bundle of joy soon – Susie also has wedding and baby registries!
Have a great day friends, and as always, thank you for stopping by.
