#ThrowbackThursday – Window Boxes
We’re making progress on the window boxes, and yesterday my three wonderful helpers and I started filling the planters. It was like an assembly line gone wrong but I loved every minute of it: My oldest at one end doing exactly as she’s supposed to, adding the dirt, patting it down…my middle watching and copying most of what she’d do, doing his best but (in true two-year-old fashion) not missing the opportunity to throw a bit of dirt around, and then my youngest dumping the finished product out onto the ground. Yes, what should have taken a half hour to do took us close to three, but worth every second. One of those fantastic disasters that as a mother I’ll cherish forever. Fingers crossed the plants will survive my kids the frost we got (almost got?) last night.
While we wait for those plants to take hold, how about a #ThrowbackThursday to whet our DIY appetites. Here’s a shot of the flower boxes we made for our old house:
You can read more about these beauties here. And while I’m posting flower pics, I can’t help but add one more shot I took of the lilacs that finally bloomed outside our new house this week:
Thanks for stopping in! Stay tuned for a full post and tutorial on our new house window boxes.
