Laundry Room: Source List

Hi guys I’m back to share a source list for the laundry room. First you might have noticed this hanging beside the washer:

I got it in the clearance aisle at HomeGoods (usually the place I make a bee line to as soon as I walk through their double doors). I liked it except I wasn’t crazy about the tags which used to read, “His, Hers, Mine, Yours…” you get the idea.  So I just got out my handy dandy chalkboard paint, gave it a quick coat, then stenciled some Martha Stewart numbers on the top.

Here’s another HomeGoods find.  I have a thing for galvanized buckets.  This one had me at hello. I actually had it in my cart before it even hit the shelves… yes, I chased down the poor store clerk who was minding her own business pushing the cart full of items to put on display.  Ruthless I tell ‘ya. 🙂 I painted on the letters to spell “SOAP” and now its my favorite thing in the room. Functional too. Oh and the striped dish towel is also from HomeGoods… you might have noticed, I.love.stripes.

OK so focusing on the top first.  The laundry sign is a DIY from an old, broken ironing board.  I took off the fabric cover and unscrewed the legs.  Then, I printed out the letters on my computer, cut them out to make a stencil and voila.  A magnetic sign.  Yes, if you look closely those are magnets, and I typically hang photos of my kiddos up there.  Anything to make me smile and remember who I’m doing this lovely laundry for 🙂 The cotton bolls are from www.thecraftoutlet.com and they are resting in a sawed-off pallet that I snagged from the side of the road.  These babies are wooden gold to me 🙂  The corbels holding this shelf up are from HomeGoods.

The striped rug from this shot is also from HomeGoods (see a trend forming here?  I’m telling you having one right down the corner from us is dangerous.)  The chicken wire frame hanging above the hooks is a DIY. It used to look like this:

Then I just added a piece of chicken wire to it, used a few clothespins and I hang pictures from it.Laundry10

Last up the storage/shelving unit on the opposite side of the room.  I found an old entertainment center on Craigslist.  I figured it would be perfect if I could fit a laundry basket in the bottom behind the doors… so we trucked over to the guy’s house, laundry basket in hand and it was a match made in laundry Heaven.  I took out the middle of the entertainment center (which is still sitting on top of my garage… wonder if I can reuse that someplace too…) and replaced it with a closet pole.  Perfect place to hang things right out of the dryer.  The vintage wash board is an antique find from a place called Harry Barker’s emporium in ME. The black baskets on the top shelves are from Homegoods (it strikes again!) and the woven baskets below are from the Christmas tree shops.  The wicker basket in between is a hand me down from my mom that I painted a grey stripe on (Dolphin Fin from Behr).  Speaking of paint, the wall color is called Quiet Moments from Benjamin Moore.  And I think, that’s a wrap in here.  If I’ve missed anything please don’t hesitate to contact me – I love to hear from you!  Have a fabulous day.
