Instagram, the New Pinterest?
If any of you share my love for pinterest, this post is for you. When I started blogging again a few short months ago, I posted a couple of sneak peek pics from this blog, to my Instagram account. A week or two went by doing this and I met a friend who shared the same interests in DIY, home décor and thrifty finds. She then introduced me to her friends who also had these interests, and, come to find out, there is a huge community out there who live, sleep, breathe home décor goodness and they share it all on Instagram 24/7. Not only can you see their beautiful homes, but you can chat with them too – and in some instances, become friends. It’s a more personal version of pinterest where you actually “meet” the designer. Pretty neat right?
Here’s a glimpse of 4 favorite Instagram accounts: First up Adriann from @cre8tive_instincs:
She’s got fabulous rustic style and guess what – she makes most of her furniture. Yep, if you’re lucky enough to be in the Ohio area, you might just be able to bring one of her fabulous pieces home with you. And, speaking of Ohio, you could also run into her sister-in-law Allison, who is equally talented and sweet. Just take a look at her amazing style below:
Eye candy Heaven I tell ya. ;-). She and her husband made this table – and many more in her feed. I was instantly inspired!
Next up is Kelsey. Just look at her fabulous design technique. I am in love with her relaxed, farmhouse style. She’s also a fan of my favorite color combination, black and white, as seen in her dining area below (and the rest of her home – go check her out!)
And last, but certainly not least is Sue. It’s all thanks to her for introducing me to this wonderful decorating community. She (like me) enjoys finding things here and there and giving them new life. I’m also obsessed with her DIY barn door:
These ladies have done an amazing job decorating their own homes and are all inspiring mom’s with warm hearts. What’s more, they are the first ones to pay you a compliment that without fail, will leave you smiling for the rest of the day. So, next time you’re ready to surf pinterest, perhaps hop on Instagram and check out one (or all) of these ladies, and tell them I said hello:-). You won’t be disappointed.
PS. I’ve even now teamed up with (a few of) them for a design series called #beYOUtifymyfriday. Each week we ask friends to share their homes and personal styles, then choose a winner and feature them on our accounts each Monday. If you like to decorate, we’d love to see your work of art! You simply tag your photo on Instagram with #beYOUtifymyfriday and you’ll be entered. 🙂
