A Diamond in the Rough
Grammy will be smiling down from Heaven when she sees this one.
The other day while in her basement, hidden along the back wall, behind a piece of plywood and blanketed with dust, I uncovered a real treasure. At first, it didn’t look like much… just a long piece of wood with folded, hinged legs. Then, the Mr. and my dad heaved it up out into the sun- and the excitement began.
Come to find out, the top was tongue and groove….
And the markings and paint splatters on the top made my heart sing. This table wore many hats, perhaps a workbench by day, and a table for a feast by night. Oh how I wish it could talk… I’m sure it’d have a story or two to tell. 🙂
…And now, she’s waking up again in 2015.
A little sanding, a $15 bottle of Watco Teak Oil, a touch of love and….
All ready for new memories to be made. Time to style this beauty up and figure out seating ;-). Check back in to see her new home!
Simply Beautiful, sweetheart!
Thank you so much Debbie! XO
