“Chairs” for the Farmhouse Table
The thing about having a big table is, you’ve gotta figure out seating too. I remembered the old Merck boxes I’d snagged from the recent basement haul and the wheels started turning. There just happened to be 6.
I flipped them over and voila…a stool! How perfect. I cruised the internet for some chair pads and found that Walmart sells a 4 pack for $19. Bingo.
To achieve this look I cleaned the boxes with the garden hose then brushed them with Watco teak oil. This brought out a nice color and will protect them from the elements too. Win win right?
We had company this week so it was the perfect excuse to get all dolled up out here.
Added a runner to the table, a few votive candles and some fresh flowers from a local florist.
And just for fun Let’s check back where we started:
And where we are today:
Thanks for stopping in! Hope I’ve inspired you to try a little DIY project today 🙂
Hi Kate! 🙂
I love that you used the wooden boxes for seating, they suit that table perfectly! And I love the seat cushions from Wal-Mart too!
It all looks beautiful and casual at the same time!
Thanks lovely – and budget friendly to boot Lol.
