House of Cards
My Grammy was always thinking of me. Any time she’d visit, she’d bring something and say, “oh Kate, do I have something for you….” followed by her sweet chuckle and squinting eyes; truly tickled to find another treasure from her beloved senior center. This time it was a framed picture, that well, just wasn’t exactly my style.
Bless her sweet heart. It did have great bones. So, I took out my sandpaper and got to work. A little chalkboard paint and a swipe of leftover Benjamin Moore’s Rockport grey (from our breezeway makeover) and bingo, a beautiful framed chalkboard!
Guess it’s true what they say, never judge a book by its cover….er, beauty is in the eye of the beholder…. either way…. 🙂
Thanks for stopping in!
Hi Kate! 🙂
I love that you remade this into something that now suits your home, underneath it is still the same thoughtful gift from your grandmother…and that’s what counts!
I love it as a chalkboard now! On her birthday you could chalk something on it that she would have said?!
I love the North, South, East, West!
Kimberley
Hi Kimberley! Thank you so much 🙂 and YES, that is a fantastic idea! I would never have thought of that.
